Sea Ahoy!

Hi Peeps!

Thank you for visiting my little ol’ blog & leaving your comments. I like getting positive comments/criticism regarding my cards –and any advice is nice too! It means a lot that you lovely people go out of your way to visit my blog J There are so many lovely/favourite blogs to visit & just not enough time too to get round to them all…but it’s not for the want of trying…

On to my little project here… I think we all do those little projects that just dow’t quite go to plan, don’t we? We’ll here’s one of mine which I've made today! I’m showcasing it because it’s good to see where we go wrong so we can make changes for the next time…

This is the first attempt at a box easel card. I watched a tutorial on youtube on how to make one. And was quite pleased with the 'mechanics' of how it turned out & I was pleased with my stamping & colouring etc but then, I had

to fiddle around with the top part - thinking it looked to bare with just the main topper on it.  I will so never learn lol I cut some corners out and added two little anchors - made by stamping onto shrink plastic - and then my heat gun died on me ;( and then I distressed and became Distressed myself - It looks like a bodge-job around the edges!Note to myself* practice blending more! So, anyway - I lived - & I learnt today lol  So on the whole, I'm pleased with the actual box easel card and the main image stamping etc so I can live with that!!

Ingredients used:
Card & paper from my own stash
Die cut frame from Nelleis MFD 020
Kanban's beside the sea stamps
Blue Heritage pigment ink
Memento ink - tuxedo black
Boat emblie from my stash
Spectrum Noir pens
Red & White rope

Lesson learnt I say!

I would like to enter it into the following challenges:
crafting musketeers - Use a stamped image!
The crafting cafe  - Here comes the boys!
Cards for men - Boys will be boys!
Challenges4everybody - Anything goes!

Thanks for dropping by!

Until next time...

Elegance & Whatnot!

Hi Peeps,
After a much needed mini break I am back home. I’ve caught up with all the holiday washing and even had a few hours spare to sit down and craft!

This first card above is made from Hunkydory’s Pearl Elegance kit. such a lovely kit to create from.

Recipe:
All card & papers & image from Hunkydory's Pearl Elegance kit

This second card has been made from free stamps & papers from Papercraft Essential magazine.  I brought it to take away on my hols and really loved the stamps.  If you haven’t got the magazine yourself, the stamps are from a company called ‘Acid drops and whatnots.co.uk’.

Recipe:
Papers & stamps from Acid drops & Whatnots
Image coloured using Spectrum Noir pens
Spellbinders spiral blossoms & foliage die cuts
kanban's red gems

Just a quick post today as need to get on with my Father's day card, as well as tidying up a very untidy craft room!

Thank you for you're lovely comments - I appreciate them! :)

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Emma's Crafty Challenge ~ Buttons & Bows

Today’s the day for a new challenge #17 over at
The theme is ‘Buttons & Bows’
Your project must have at least 1 button and 1 bow, it can be a card, scrapbook page or 3d project.

it's being sponsored by the lovely Carly Duff from Creata!
look at the fantastic prize below!

I do hope you can join in & I look forward to seeing all your crafty creations!

For my card I have used elements from Kanban’s Lavender Rose kit. I cut around the flowers on the backing card, then added a doily & sentiment topper & slipped it partially behind the cut flowers.  I added little swirly buttons around the doily & larger pastel buttons on the organza ribbon & bow.

The DT have made some lovely creations so please pop over & take a look at their inspirational projects.

The sun is out today, so I hope whatever you have planned, your day is a good one!

Until next time,

Mandy :)

A box of kittens....

Hello Peeps!

Blogging is being neglected by me.  I’m so bad! I have health issues that knock the stuffing out of me so at times, blogging, visiting blogs, commenting & even making my cards are just something I find hard to concentrate on at times.  It’s not just a day here & there, it’s like this week, 3 days out of 7 I’’m unable to function, 2 – 3 days it takes me to find my feet and then 1 day I’m on a good one…and then the cycle begins again! So frustrating!  Anywho, it’s not really a moan up, just an explanation why I can’t always get around to doing any of the above. so I hope you understand if I miss visiting you.
BUT, on that one good day this week I managed to make 3 cards and a box card …

The elements I used where from Kanban’s Feline friends kit, the flowers and flourishes were from my stash.
I feel I want to add more but on Hubby & Daughter’s advice, they said to leave it as it is…

I’ve managed to get round to a few blogs this afternoon…hubby banished me to the bedroom…ALONE – to rest, so I thought I would go visiting as I am missing out on seeing everyone’s wonderful creations!
Here's  another few cards I made on my good day:

These are all made from Kanban kits.

Right, I'm off to do some more visiting.  Thanks for dropping in, I do appreciate if you leave me a comment - puts a smile on my face!

Until next time,

Mandy :)
