Glitter overload??

Good afternoon Crafty Peeps!
Firstly, I would like to say Hi & welcome to my new followers…thank you for joining me on my crafty journey! And, also thank you all for your lovely comments left – they are wonderful to read & surely boost my crafty self!

Not a bad day here in my neck of the woods – considering what the rest of the Country is dealing with weather wise.  We’ve had lots of rain, and a little flooding here & there but to be honest, I’ve not ventured out much lately so it could be much worse than I know.  From where I can see out my window the day looks beautiful hehe!

On to my little makes of today. …but before I show you what I’ve made, I just want to add this;  I think everyone is trying to be frugal with their pennies & to be honest, this time of year, leading up to Christmas, is a time for many to be pulling their hair out whilst looking at the family Christmas list…everything is sooo expensive & where have the days gone where a pressie wasn’t expected but a joy to receive what ever it was…*sigh*.  Well, this year we are  poor so everyone will be getting what I choose to make for them LOL!!!
Here’s my make:
Front

Back

Now, I was super excited putting everything together to make this door hanger…and I think the excitement got the better of me and I ‘over cooked’ it a bit :/ It is for my 5 year old Niece, & she is uber - girlie-girlie with a - glittered - cherry - on - the - top,-little-Princess , So I really hope she sees pass her Auntie’s glitter  obsession enthusiasm!

**Ingredients**
Sugar Buttons card stock: -
Bubblegum Candy Strip 900936
Hearts cut out from: Fairy Friend Sparkly paper craft toppers 900927
Flowers from crafty stash
Diamond Stickles
Border trims (sorry can't remember offhand whose die it is)
Spellbinders D-lites die cut Fantastic flourish two
Spectrum Noir  PL3 pen from the Purples.

So, that's about it. - I'm off now to give my Son  a hair cut...short notice request (as usual) but he has an important date tomorrow...so I really could not let him be seen with his hair as it is!  After that, back on to Door Hanger number two ( let's see if I learn to tone it down this time lol)
Whatever you are doing, where ever you are doing it, I hope its a good day for you!
Until next time,

Mandy :)

Scrumptious Sugar Buttons

Afternoon All!
I’m so rubbish at being constant with blogging – it’s not that I don’t have the time – more like, I don’t have the concentration to sit and blog.  Today is better, just a lot of pain but brain seems awake for a change!
So, on to my card, this cutie beauty has been made from the ‘Sugar Buttons by Kathryn’,  from Kanban.  Such a delightful kit full of cute yumminess…oh my word, really, it’s just so LOVELY!
The card above was a commissioned card and the recipient was so pleased with it, saying that it was ‘Spectacular – really special’.  That was pleasing to the ear I can tell you.  I must say, I so enjoyed making this, and there’s not many times I can finish a card and say to myself  ‘I really, REALLY like It’ – I always flaff about thinking does it need more, or have I added too much…but thankfully, this time I was SO happy with it.  It’s just a shame the pic doesn’t do it any justice at all.
If you would like to know the ingredients for this card, give me a shout & I will post the recipe on here…

Okay, that’s it for now.  I’m off to catch up around Blog-land…enjoy your crafty day peeps..

Healing Blues & Choccy browns!

Hi Peeps!

How did everyone’s Halloween turn out?  The kids from our street did well, and for 30 mins or so, our door was being knocked at, we were ‘scared’ at what faced us when we opened it…my hubby moaned at every kid telling them not to take all the sweets as he wanted some himself!!  Big kid! hehe

On to today’s card – this little beauty (well, to me it is) was made lovingly last night & it’s especially for my Mum – her last radiotherapy treatment is today & we want to let her know how proud we are of her & that she has walked another journey in battle.  It’s only a small acknowledgement of what she has been through. She has had a hard time – she hated the inconvenience of having to go every day for treatment and those 3 weeks she went were an eternity to her…but hey! IT’S OVER!!! YAY TO MY MUM!!!!

OK, I am going to enter this card into
& the theme for this month’s challenge is:

'BROWN & BLUE'

And the project can be a card, scrapbook page of a 3D project & the prize is a Kanban goody bag!

What cha waiting for?….ENTER THE CHALLENGE!!

Until next time...

Mandy :)

Happy Birthday, Bryan!

Birthday Wishes just for you, Bryan!

I am entering this card in to the challenge over at Emma’s Crafty Challenge.

Card template & papers (& a few odd bits from my crafty stash) used are from Kanban’s So Masculine’ kit. My very new favourite kit (… I say that to ALL Kanban’s kits)! There is such a variety of choice in this kit 'specially as it's sometimes difficult to come up with ideas for men's cards!

It's a beautiful day here in Essex - sun is shining !  I'm going to put this beautiful day to use and do some crafting housework. (yeah, right, pfftt)

Hope your day is as nice where ever you are!

Until next time...

Mandy :)

Think Pink...

Afternoon Crafty bloggers! Today I would like to share my card I made for Breast Cancer awareness.  I found a new blog today by a lady called Dawn – please click on the link to read her story.  She & I both have Mother’s going through breast cancer treatment. You can enter Dawn’s challenge to raise money for this very worthy cause.  This is very close to my heart after losing an Aunt to cancer, having my Daughter go through cancer and now my Mother having had a double mastectomy and having radiotherapy treatment.  I know that this awful disease touches many of our lives.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:

Dawn's crafting -Think Pink

Please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you!

Until next time...

crafty hugs,

Mandy :)

Boo Boo be do!

Hope all is good & well in your neck of the woods?

I had a request to make a Betty Boop Birthday card for a customer’s Mother & I must say I enjoyed putting this one together. I love black & red combination & along with 'blinging' the card up with my red gems, Betty was coloured with Promarkers and then red glitter glue added to her dress & shoes.  The little white flowers come from Polkadoodles & the red & black flowers came from my stash.  For the sentiment, I used the stamps from Crafter’s Companion.

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of crafting again in between helping my other sisters with taking care of Mum.  She starts her radiotherapy next week.  Here’s hoping that the rads kills the five nodes that are left with cancer in.  We have learnt now that Mum has an aggressive cancer that WILL return anywhere in her body.  She’s a strong minded lady so I know she will put up a fight!

Keep well,
Until next time,

Mandy J

MIA

Good Morning!

Wow, it's been a while, huh?
What with a spell of illness & a house move there hasn't been much time for any craftiness :-/
However, this card above is one I made for Hubby's birthday in July. We both love lighthouses & this lighthouse digi stamp came from Sweet n Sassy Stamps - I coloured with my promarkers & fleximarkers, added some twine (coloured with PM's) & used some scrap papers from stash & included a sentiment made in word! Hubby loved his card I'm pleased to say!
Well....
Things are improving healthwise, the new house is looking good and the icing on the cake will be when I can get back to making cards! Unfortunately, everything craft wise is still packed up :-(  I'm itching to unpack but until hubby can create my little crafting area the boxes remain packed :-/
I've not had a chance much to catch up with blogs either as we have Mother here with us - recovering from surgery.  She had a double mastectomy a week ago and she is amazingly coping & dealing with her pain levels really well. Tuesday she gets results as to whether the cancer is gone.
I have been sharing the crafting world of card making blogs with her, which brought me to reading about Marcea's Thank you candy! If you haven't already, pop over and have a look at her wonderful work :-)
Well, once things are up & back to 'normal' I plan on blogging & resuming my card making addiction!!
Until then......

Look what's coming....

I've heard exciting news from Crafter's Companion News Blog!

EEK!

If you are a fan of Nigel May's 'A-MAY-ZING' ALL KINDS OF EVERYTHING CD ROM - then this week sees the launch of his NEW 'AMAZING craft into Christmas CD!!!  There are stamps too - I can't wait! It will be launching on Create & Craft on Tuesday 19th June! I will definitely be watching!  Crafter's Companion  have created a blog badge to celebrate the launch & they are inviting you to put the badge either on your blog or your Facebook page.  When you have done so, pop back here & enter your link to your blog or FB page by using their Mister Linky before 9am next Tuesday 19th June and you could be in with a chance of winning the whole craft into Christmas range! All details are on their blog.

 How exciting is that?

I've been visiting the DT's blogs and loved seeing what they have done using the stamps and papers from his CD!

If you love Nigel's stuff then go take a look at the design teams blogs listed on Crafter's Companion blog!

Now b r e a t h...

Okay, onto my little card now - I've had a play about with my free stamps from Simply cards & Papercraft magazine - stamps are by Teddy Bo & Co. I had not an easy time as I had a headache from hell but convinced myself to carry on as by doing so I thought it would relax me...Didn't quite work out that way and I wasn't happy with how everything looked. My colouring has a lot to be desired & I'm still learning!  I'm happier than I was with the card, but still feel something is missing...hey ho!

Here's my crafty ingredients:

Teddy Bo & Co stamp & papers
White card stock to stamp on
Nellie's Multi Frame die
Promarker pens: Cocoa, Dusky pink & Satin
Embossing folder from Crafter's Companion Beatrix Potter range
Blue ribbon & button from own stash
Doodled with my Blue Jelly roll Sekura pen
All mixed & matted & layered with peachy & blue card from stash
Left to dry and...
 VOILA!

Here it is!

Like I say, not completely happy with it but showing it all the same.  Oh, forgot to mention, I ruffled my ribbon up by running a stitch through and pulled it together to make a little rosette type thingy - then added a star button with a little bit of twine which I coloured with my peach Promarker.

Thanks for dropping by, any imput/advice, please don't hold back ;-)

Until next time...

Mandy :)

Embellishy Teddy!

This is my entry for the Crafters Companions challenge this month, which is Time To Embellish!

I have used my new 'Meadow Cottage bears' from Crafter's Companion by Christine Haworth.
I've embellished my card with as much as I think it needed without overdoing it! What do you think?

This is a beautiful CD Rom - if you've not had a chance to purchase it & have a look through it, I recommend that you do, such a lot you can do with these great images!

I haven't been around much this month - although I have been busy card making -  in between not feeling too good with my fibro flare up  - plus having to organise a Diamond Jubilee Street Party, which after all the arrangements and setting up, went really, really well.  I have a fantastic Hubby, family and neighours who pulled together to make this a great event!

Right, off to take a look around some crafty blogs...

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Secret Garden

I've had a play around today - and came up with this card.  I'd had some Hunkydory foiled die cut Toppers that I'd purchased a few months back - this one on the card was for a New Home card - I wanted to create a kind of secret garden effect - I don't know if I've achieved that or I've just swallowed up the topper! haha - either way, I really like it, and enjoyed getting 'carried away' adding this & that!  Everything on this card came from my stash (you know the one, the stash that gets put aside for another day).  I did a bit of doodling around the edges, I coloured an odd few leaves with my Promarkers and Voila! Here is the result!

If you have time, please let me know what you think?

Back later,

Mandy

Fairy Five today!

I've been in my element creating this little card for my Niece, Yvie - it's all glittery, which I love.  I find you can always get away with more glitter on cards when they're for small children.  I was like a kid myself, colouring, gluing & sticking!

The fairy digi is from a Christmas digi & I know I've had it for a while, but again, I can't remember where I got it from, so if you recognise it, and know where it came from, then please let me know! The sentiment stamp came from Crafter's Companion and the rest came from my stash!

Just a quick post today as am a tired girl after having a marathon card making session.  I'm hoping to raise some pennies from my cards as I have won a competition to host a Diamond Jubliee Street Party, and I've been trying to think of things for the children of our street to take part in - fancy dress is one thing I can think of, and maybe doing a raffle too but I need pennies to  buy the children's winning prizes - I've got 4 weeks to get this party started!!!

Seems this post wasn't as quick as I intended it to be!!

Hope all is well in your cosy little whereabouts...

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Teddy, you look tattered!

Hi All,

Before I begin, I just want to say a massive Thank You to  Lynsey - I won Mr Nigel May'sA-May-Zing' All kinds of Everything signed  photo from the man himself, on her blog! First time I have won something, so was really chuffed.  I've brought his CD but still yet to make anything from it but I will, oh I definitely will!

OOOh, what's going on with the weather?  Last night it was howling and growling & pouring down most of the night - I must admit, I do like being snuggled up in bed, duvet up under my chin and tucked all around me, watching the rain hammer against the bedroom window - in a weird way it lulls me to sleep, so last night, for the first time in a LONG time, I got to sleep at a reasonable time! (not that I'm wishing it rained every night, but thanks rain, I felt a little refreshed this morning lol)

OK, here is little Tatty Teddy - he came about as a request from one of my Daughter's work colleagues - she wanted a card made with this little fella for her Mother's birthday. I sure hope her Mum likes the card.

Tatty Teddy was cut out and decoupaged up, using Pinflair gel - I used a baby pink chalk to edge the lace-edged square die cut & corner flourishes and then glittered with my very fine glitter (for the life of me, I can not remember the name of, but remember where I purchased it from online - and guess what, after going to look for it I found the  site is under construction - so still wont know for a while).  The little flowers are from some peel offs from my stash, I placed them onto different pink card and then cut round them - the butterfly comes from the same peel offs and I did the same with that as I did the flowers.  The little circle tag is from Polka doodles Candy doodles collection CD.  The Mum sentiment came from a peel off. All was added to the lovely mint green card (from my stash).

How's things in your neck of the woods?  I hope it's not raining where you are - although, it does seem to be all over the country!

I'm off now to catch up on some blogs!

Until next time, take care.

Mandy :)

Aww, New Baby Girl....

It's another post from me- and with it comes this pretty, cute little card made from the Crafter's Companion Paintbox Poppet CD elements!  using everything from papers, tags, insert & envelope from the CD.  I've  also added ribbon, button & gems from  my own stash! (Oh, I used some gingham pink paper from my stash also). The tags have been personalised with baby's name, birth date & her weight & length.  I loved putting all this together and it helped a lot by being all PINK! Love it!

I was asked by my B.I.L  to make him this card  for a lady who has had a baby girl - & only after having given the card to my  B.I.L, I learnt how special this card was to be, as the new Mum herself had lost quite a few pregnancies  before this beautiful, cute little baby girl  arrived into the world.  So, not only am I  pleased with how the card came out - I am so very pleased & happy, to know that this little girl arrived safe & soundly into the world.  I wish her Mum & Dad so much happiness with their new Daughter.

Ok, just a short one.  Off to do some chores before resuming more card making!

How's your day going?

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Tuesday 24 April 2012

Time for tea?

Helloooo!  Here I am again, with another card to show !

Everything, apart from the doilies, red rose and my own text (& table & light switch that I drew), is from the Polkadoodles CD- Sundae of Seasons - I so love this CD of yummy niceness - and working with red & white was more a pleasure than a challenge - I just love those two colours together!

Anyway, hope you likey?

I'm off to link up this card with the challenge.  Fingers crossed I get to do it right!

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Have a wonderful day!

I'm back!  I've spent this rainy, cold day in a place I love best - yep, my craft room - & the picture below is what I got to play around with.

Mr Postie delivered the stamps & papers from Polkadoodles Pen & Paper circle 2 on Friday gone, and I've only got around to playing with the stamps & papers today.  The stamps are 'scrummylicious', along with using the gorgeous papers - I've had so much fun! AND, for the first time also, I made my own paper flowers (with the help of Marianne esigns flower dies)! I also used Glossy accents on the dragon flies and part of the bird house, plus bow & heart.  I did a bit of chalking on my card base to match the backing papers. I used my PM's to colour the flowers, bird, dragon flies and tree branch & tree house - I'm still learning to use my PM's & having fun in the process - takes me back to the days of felt tips & colouring books!  So all in all, I'm pretty chuffed at how my card turned out!

How has your day been today, have you been crafty enough to make anything?

Until next time....

Mandy :)

Busy, Busy...

Hi!

I'm just wondering whether today's weather is going to make it's mind up...well, I guess being British weather then may be not!  We've had beautiful sunshine this morning, and now, its grey and raining heavily!
Card 1

I've made two new 'New Home' cards, one of our neighbour's who moved yesterday & the second card is for the new family that has moved into her old house! I hope they like them.  These two cards were made using a digi from CraftsUprint  & backing papers from my stash. I've decoupaged the flowers and cute birds - and added 'New home' text from rub-on and peels offs from my stash!  I'm quite liking how they turned out.  The pic doesn't do them justice (prob my non-camera skills played a part in that!)

Card 2

..well, that's it for now.  Thanks for dropping by! Don't be frightened to leave a comment.  All comments gratefully received! haha.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Until next time,

Mandy :)

Mother's Day creation

Hi all,

What a beautiful day today - shame I spent most of it cleaning! I have neglected that part of my day the past few days as crafting is so much more important! hehe!

Anyway, on to this little creation.  I took part in the Polka Doodle Dandies facebook March Challenge.  We were asked to create a card or anything to make for a lady/Mother's day...so this is what I came up with!  I used elements and papers from Polkadoodles CD 'Sundae of Seasons' and used the digi flower from the March challenge. I'm really pleased how it turned out - using the polka doodles CD's are such a pleasure, the graphic etc are gorgeous!

Anyway, hope you likey!

I've purchased the new 'Sugarplum daisy' CD from Polkadoodles and so looking forward to using it!!  Keep your eyes peeled!

All for now,

Mandy :)

Boots 'n' Brolly

Well, here I go, the first entry to my new blog!  Not that anyone is reading as I type this but I'll say Good morning anyway!!

This little card was made as a gift for my sister.  Papers & elements used were from my gorgeous Polkadoodles printable elements CD - Sundae of seasons.  I'm such a fan of Nikky Hall and her beautiful creations, such a talented lady.  You can check her shop out here. The sentiment is from Carmen at Beyond the Fringe Crafts. Carmen creates free digital images and vintage graphics - another talented lady.  Check out her blog if you haven't already done so!

I entered a couple of her challenges on the Polka doodles dandies Facebook page - that was scary as a first time for me! I had some positive and kind comments from other crafters which, I must say, was very nice!

This is a short entry for my first post, I need to get into the swing of posting here...

All for now,

Mandy
